Happy Labor Day From Your Friends on Daufuskie Island
The Scrap Iron has been flowing all weekend long and so has the music! The fun just never stops on Daufuskie Island, South Carolina. If you’ve never visited our magical little island in the Lowcountry that’s only accessible by boat, the fun always starts at the unofficial, official gateway to Daufuskie: Freeport Marina!
Freeport Marina is home of the famous Old Daufuskie Crab Company Restaurant
When visiting Daufuskie island, it’s important to realize that because the island is so small, there can only be a few commercial businesses that thrive in all seasons. The Old Daufuskie Crab Co is certainly one of those businesses!
Both visitors and locals are like both love time spent at this Lowcountry hidden gem. Along with the island’s famous specialty cocktail called Scrap Iron, another “must-try” is the famous Daufuskie Deviled Crab! There are only a few true “Gullah” left on the island that know how to make this Lowcountry delicacy.
Silver Dew Winery
One cannot visit Daufuskie island without stopping by South Carolina’s oldest winery. The Silver Dew Winery is quickly becoming one of the most highly anticipated stops on the Daufuskie Difference tour!
Be sure to bring home a few bottles of the good stuff back home with you! While you’re at the winery, you’ll have the opportunity to see a beautiful bald eagles nest as well as a 300 year old angel oak tree. Daufuskie Island is absolutely gorgeous at every turn.
The Fun Doesn’t Stop
